As reported by The Downtown News High Speed Rail will not be cutting through Los Angeles State Historic Park!! We are overjoyed to say that the proposed “cut and cover” alignment of High Speed Rail that would have resulted in park closure and delayed development of LASHP has been withdrawn. We appreciate our recent discussions with HSR staff and their willingness to consider options that address our concerns and minimize impacts to State Parks.
It is a happy day here at LASHP and we’re celebrating these new developments. Many thanks to all who’ve come out to speak in support of our urban parks – California State Parks Foundation, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the River Project, Friends of the Los Angeles River, William C. Velasquez Institute, Anuhuak Youth Soccer, and ReMAP LA. You continue to be tremendous allies and supporters of State Parks in LA. We couldn’t have done it without you!
