This is the European Starling. Currently, there are over 200 million European Starlings in North America, after just a few hundred of them were released in New York City in 1890. They prefer urban areas and feed on insects. We have many in the park, so if you feel like getting acquainted with these interesting birds, come visit us at LASHP.
