We celebrated Earth Day early this year with a gigantic camp out over this past weekend. It was sunny and beautiful all day and we were lucky enough to have some very special guests. We were joined by The William C. Velasquez Institute along with The Nature of Wildworks to throw one of our largest Earth Day Celebrations yet. We were also lucky enough to be joined by Councilman Ed Reyes and The Council on Environmental Quality Chair, Nancy Sutley. We couldn’t help but blush this morning when we saw that The White House Blog featured an article about our park and celebration. Posted by Chair Sutley, the article points at the importance of these events and our park in bringing this community and “especially its youth, closer to each other and closer to the outdoors.” We couldn’t agree more! Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Earth Day, and to those of you who are celebrating this weekend, Happy Earth Day!
